单集文稿 ...

  • Hello and welcome to the English Like a Nature podcast.

  • My name is Anna and you're listening to week 47,

  • day one of your English Fiver Day, the second season.

  • The days are getting cold, but we continue to keep our fire burning.

  • The fire I talk of is our passion for improving our English.

  • I'm here as always to provide you with some kindling for your fire,

  • some big logs of vocabulary to keep your fire burning in a really healthy and steady way.

  • So all you have to do is turn up and receive your kindling.

  • Without further ado, let's begin this week and this episode with a snapshot of what's to come.

  • The plan was simple.

  • A hardened criminal named Vance wanted to rob the museum by smashing a display case filled with ancient gold coins.

  • While he grabbed the coins, his nervous friend Milo waited outside as the getaway driver,

  • ready to speed off the moment Vance ran out.

  • But the heist failed when Milo panicked.

  • drove away too early and left Vance shouting on the museum steps as the police arrived.

  • Okay, let's dive into that vocabulary then starting with the verb Rob.

  • Nice and easy.

  • Rob.

  • R-O-B.

  • To Rob is another way of saying to steal money or things from a person or place often using force or threats.
