President Trump says 20-year-old West Virginia National Guard member Sarah Beckstrom has died.
She was one of two guardsmen shot blocks from the White House Wednesday.
NPR's Brian Mann has more.
We do know that her family was with her.
While speaking to U.S.
military leaders around the world, Trump said the other Guard member, 24-year-old Andrew Wolfe,
also from West Virginia, is still fighting for his life after undergoing surgery.
Wolfe remains in critical condition." And here's Brian Mann.
The suspect,
a 29-year-old Afghan national who officials say worked with the CIA in Afghanistan and came to America after the U.S.
withdrew, was also shot in his hospitalized.
He allegedly drove across the country from Washington state to carry out the attack.
Trump says he's ordering a review of all Afghans who entered the country during the Biden administration and has ordered hundreds more guards to the nation's capital.
