29 分钟bbt sounds music radio podcasts Hello, welcome to Big Boss Interview.
I'm Felicity Hanna and I'm joined today by the BBC Economics Editor, Faisal Islam.
Faisal, hello.
What's a pleasure to be on?
Well, a very good pleasure to have you.
Now, we've had some enormous bosses on this podcast since we launched.
They don't really come much bigger than the boss you've been speaking to, Google CEO Sandar Pachai.
And you actually went out to see him in San Francisco.
I did.
I was invited over to the Googleplex to have quite a lengthy conversation with Mr Pichai,
a CEO of Google, and officially it's Alphabet, the holding company.
And clearly the main issue was the extraordinary build out of artificial intelligence,
booming beyond all expectation, I think.
It is an extraordinary time to have this type of interview,
not just the trillions of dollars of investment going in physically,
into data centers,
into power and energy needs to be the sort of horsepower behind those billions of queries and searches that are coming through.
Obviously,
there are very real questions about how sustainable all of this is sustainable financially in terms of fears about a bubble sustainable in terms of energy sustainable in terms of the climate politically and socially in terms of jobs and they gave us a lot of time to explore all of these issues i've not really heard him talk in quite such depth across such an array of issues and also show us so much of what's going on inside Google at DeepMind,
at their quantum computer, and with Gemini, their new AI sort of consumer offering.
