  • Okay, our friends,

  • so today we are reading another story for you about the Pacific Northwest because,

  • you know, it's important to know stuff.

  • Not everyone lives in North America and even if they did live in North America,

  • not everyone lives in the Pacific Northwest.

  • So, We thought we would give you a little bit of history, perhaps,

  • about what it's like here and some of the stuff that's happened here.

  • And now this story is partially for my friends who live across the pond in England

  • because we've got some commonalities here in this area and I can't wait to read to you this story.

  • It is called The Pig War.

  • It was written by Emma Bland Smith and it's illustrated by Alice and Jay.

  • And friends, I cannot wait to give you all the details because there's a subtitle for this book.

  • This subtitle says, how a poor kind tragedy taught England and America to share.

  • We must do that mustn't we?

  • Before we tell today's story, I do want to mention, just briefly, that we have patrons out there,

  • friends, people who help us make sure that we have new and interesting stories every single day.

  • And to thank them for their efforts, I would like to give them a shout out.

  • And Karen, you know,

  • there's just something to brotherly love and getting along that's pretty important.

  • So we hope that you enjoy today's story because I'm sure you guys definitely do those things.
