China has lodged Syria's representations with Japan over its prime minister's remarks concerning Taiwan.
A Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson said on Monday that the remarks violate the one China principle,
the spirit of the four political documents between China and Japan,
and the basic norms of international relations.
He said the attempt to interfere in Taiwan affairs not only provokes the post-war international order,
but also harms China-Japan ties.
The spokesperson is urging Japan to stop provocations and oversteps.
