The Senate has passed a short-term government funding measure and sent it to the House.
It's aimed at ending the federal government shutdown.
The measure would fund the federal government through January 30th.
House lawmakers are returning to take up the measure.
A company in Mississippi, CalMain,
is donating more than 10,000 eggs to food pantry distributors in that state.
The shutdown has interrupted food benefits known as SNAP.
