  • Old.

  • Before we get into the episode, though, there's a theme.

  • And the theme this time is talking generally about things.

  • Part three questions are about things in general.

  • We are talking about old things in general,

  • so specialist vocabulary for old things and specialist vocabulary for talking generally.

  • Keep an eye out or an ear out.

  • Try to listen for them.

  • Can you hear them?

  • Why do people keep old things?

  • I suppose generally there are two main reasons.

  • It's either the money value or the sentimental one.

  • Lots of antiques are worth a great deal,

  • having been around for so long and assuming they're in a good condition.

  • And of course there's the obvious symbolic value of something that's been in the family for generations.

  • What kind of old things do people in your country like to keep?
