Today, the BBC announced that Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood is to unveil a major shake-up of the immigration and asylum system modelled on the Danish system, which is seen as one of the toughest in Europe. Political correspondent Iain Watson joins Laura and Adam in the studio to tell them about his trip to Denmark where he’s been speaking to the people responsible for, and affected by, those reforms. Also, Laura has interviewed the mother who is taking legal action against the company behind a chat bot which, she says, encouraged her 14 year old son to take his own life. • Reunited, Adam Fleming.

  • Hello, are you going to play that song in a tinny way?

  • No, don't.

  • No, because I did it before and it was cute, but I don't think I need to do it again.

  • Well,

  • so people have got higher expectations of sound quality

  • since when we started doing this in the old days.

  • Do they?

  • Really?

  • Because of fancy headphones and things.

  • Most importantly, have you signed up to be part of the 25 hour podcastathon?

  • So on Friday, when it's happening, Thursday into Friday,

  • on Friday morning, when I've been kindly invited to come on,

  • I will probably be doing some filming somewhere in a windy place, but I'm going to try.

  • And it might even bring some more intrigue if I'm trying to get through on the phone.

  • And it's not working.

  • That would be standard, wouldn't it?

  • Is this a secret location you're filming at?

  • Is that what you're not saying?

  • Well, yeah, I'm just not going to say where it is because it might not come off.
