Hi there, I'm Katrina Perry.
You're very welcome to the President's Path here on the BBC's The Explanation Feed.
Do follow and subscribe so you never miss an episode.
Each week here on The President's Path,
we walk back along the latest actions of President Trump and his administration.
This week we're looking at the fallout of the elections and what it means for the midterms.
I'm joined by my fellow chief presenter,
Sumi Somaskanda and our assistant news editor, Courtney Subramanian.
Hi ladies, how's it going?
Hey Katrina, hey Sumi.
Hey girls, how are you?
Another dramatic week here on The President's Path.
We had our first taste of just what the electorate here in this country thinks of President Trump and the administration and I suppose the direction of travel of the country and the headline is not good according to the exit polls and indeed the results it would seem.
What did you guys make of what we saw?
Look, I think this was a great night for the Democrats.
They were expecting good results.
I think the Republicans were bracing for some Democratic wins and figuring out how they were going to spin it.
But I think the prevailing theme was the discipline with the Democratic candidates around the affordability crisis and really drilling into that message.
in their region,
in their cities and their states about how rising costs are affecting their constituents.
