Hello and welcome to News Hour Live from the BBC World Service in London, I'm Rebecca Kezby.
And we begin this programme with breaking news coming from Buckingham Palace this evening that Andrew,
the brother of the British King Charles III,
is to be formally stripped of all his royal titles and his royal residence on the Windsor estate,
a 30-room mansion known as Royal Lodge.
Andrew will now be known simply as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor.
and will move to the Royal Estate in Sandringham, Norfolk, but be privately funded by the King.
We voiced up the statement released tonight by Buckingham Palace.
His Majesty has today initiated a formal process to remove the style,
titles and honours of Prince Andrew.
Prince Andrew will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten, Windsor.
His lease on Royal Lodge has, to date, provided him with legal protection to continue in residence.
Formal notice has now been served to surrender the lease,
and he will move to alternative private accommodation.
These censures are deemed necessary,
notwithstanding the fact that he continues to deny the allegations against him.

and will remain with, the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse.
Well,
this historic move tonight comes as controversy swirls over Andrew's links to the late convicted sex offender,
