This week, for the first time in six years,
Donald Trump met his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping in person.
Their relationship has not been the smoothest lately.
The U.S.
and China have been in a trade war.
And it was difficult to see how the world's two biggest economies might find a truce.
I guess on the scale of from zero to ten, with ten being the best.
I would say the meeting was at 12.
The American president was effusive about it all.
He said that China's agreed to buy massive amounts of soybeans from the United States,
ending a boycott.
And he said his administration will reduce tariffs on China.
Beijing was more subdued,
offering few details beyond the fact that the two countries had reached a consensus.
