This past July.
China initiated a landmark subsidy program targeting a pressing social challenge,
the care of its elderly citizens with moderate to severe disabilities.
The early data is telling, as of October 8, that was just days ago,
eligible seniors in pilot regions have already utilized over 243,000 consumption vouchers,
representing a direct investment of about 182 million yuan,
that's nearly $26 million, into their care.
