What's this?
I hear you cry?
Well, each year we take a short break,
which is the perfect time for us to head to the island and revisit some of our favourite castaways with you.
But where to start?
Every weekday, we'll be delivering a moment from our Desert Island directly to you.
It could be funny, it could be sad, or it could even just be silly.
Think of it as your very own Desert Island discs postcard.
First up this week is the actor and all-around legend Dame Judy Dench,
who is still working hard at 90.
Dame Judy's been cast away to the island three times, once by Roy Plomley, again by Sue Lawley,
and here she is on her most recent visit in 2015,
talking to Kirsty Young about her first performances.
Oh, the settlement players.
They were the most wonderful company in York that my father and mother were both part of.
My mom used to make costumes and things.
My father used to act.
And this was Amateur Domesticists?
Yes, he was a doctor.
