Today, we hear more detail about the hostage release, which a Hamas official says will take place on Monday morning, and we talk through what to expect from an international peace summit in Egypt led by US President Donald Trump and Egypt. Over 20 world leaders, including Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron, are expected to be in attendance at Sharm El-Sheikh. A spokesperson for Egypt's President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi said the summit is intended to "end the war in the Gaza Strip, strengthen peace and stability efforts in the Middle East, and open a new page in regional security and stability." Laura, Paddy and Henry discuss how big a role the UK played in the peace process. Plus, we discuss the ongoing row over the collapse of the China spy case and whether the UK’s national security advisor Jonathan Powell has questions to answer over what happened. • So today we can talk about something very unusual.

  • A day when genuinely many people are celebrating in the Middle East and often news coverage of anything in the Middle East is dominated by conflict.

  • violence, upset, sadness,

  • grief and it's certainly been that way in the last couple of years as the conflict in Gaza has raged on but today within 24 hours we expect to see hostages,

  • the remaining Israeli hostages come home.

  • Gazans we've seen on their way home to what's left of where they used to live so a day to celebrate but a day with huge challenges too.

  • And on that we played some recordings from Hostage Square in Tel Aviv and you can hear here the moment that the US President is cheered and the Israeli Prime Minister is booed.

  • To Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

  • But there was and is a massive sense of anticipation,

  • people holding their breath while celebrating what's happened now, but what's next?

  • So we'll get into all of that on this Sunday's episode of Newscast.

  • Newscast.

  • Newscast from the BBC.

  • That boy slipper me in the classroom doing our violin lessons.

  • I was the tattletale in the class.

  • Can I have an apology, please?

  • I trust almost nobody.

  • Their daddy has to sometimes do a strong language.

  • Next time in Moscow.

  • I feel the lulu with no solulu.
