Hello.
Earlier on this week on Newscast, I was chatting to Lisa Doucette,
who was in Israel about what was happening in Egypt,
where Israel and Hamas had sent delegations for these indirect negotiations about a ceasefire and a release of the hostages and the future for Gaza after two years of the conflict there.
And Lisa said that hopes were really high.
Well, she was right because on Wednesday night, we got the news that Israel.
and Hamas had agreed the terms of a ceasefire, which will also include the release.
of the remaining Israeli hostages being held in Gaza over the next couple of days.
So that is what we're going to focus on in the first half of this episode of Newscast.
Hello,
it's Adam in the newscast studio and we're going to focus on the momentous events around the Israel Gaza conflict of the last 24 hours Israel and Hamas look
like they have agreed part of a ceasefire deal,
which includes the release of the remaining Israeli hostages in return for Palestinian prisoners being held in Israel.
We will also see a massive influx of aid into Gaza,
but there's lots of elements of Donald Trump's so-called peace plan that the two sides haven't agreed on yet.
This is the start or the middle of a process rather than the end.
So let's look at all the details.
Let's look at what we know, what we don't know,
and how people across the world are reacting to all these big decisions.
First of all, we're going to speak to Lisa Doucette.
