Delegations from Israel and Hamas have held their first day of indirect negotiations in Egypt over the Gaza ceasefire plan proposed by US President Donald Trump.
The talks in Shem el-Sheikham as Israel's bombardment of Gaza enters its third year after Hamas stormed southern Israel,
taking dozens of hostages.
The cool issues of the negotiations include a permanent ceasefire,
prisoner exchange, the timetable for the withdrawal of Israeli troops,
humanitarian aid access, the disarmament of Hamas, and Gaza's future governance and security.
The Hamas delegation's sister talks made positive progress,
