Okay, our friend.
So today we're going to read a very silly but very fun story.
And the reason why I'm calling it silly is
because it features a character that is a mythological character.
That means it's not a real character.
Boy, is it popular in mythology, a very special kind of mythology.
You would have to live in New Mexico to know what immediately what this guy is
because he's a jackalope,
right?
So imagine a jackrabbit, a really big rabbit, but imagine that he's got horns like an antelope.
And that's kind of what he is, the jackalope.
Today's story is called Juan and the Jackalope.
It is a children's book and verse.
It was written by Rodolfo Anaya, illustrated by Amy Cordova.
And I am excited to read it to you.
I want you to imagine we are in New Mexico where it is hot and sunshiny and the wild animals are all out doing their thing and we're going to talk about it.
Are you ready?
Today's story is read by mommy and...
Who are you today?
Your Philip?
