Delegations from Israel and Hamas have held their first day in a indirect talks in Egypt.
Over the Gaza ceasefire plan proposed by U.S.
President Donald Trump,
the talks in Egypt come as Israel's bombardment of Gaza enters a third year after Hamas stormed the southern Israel,
taking dozens of hostages.
The core issues of the negotiations include a permanent ceasefire,
prisoner exchange, the timetable for the withdrawal of Israeli troops,
humanitarian aid access, the disarmament of Hamas, and Gaza's future governance and security.
The Hamas delegation says the talks made positive progress,
but Israel's continuing offensive in Gaza poses challenges to the release of Israeli hostages.
