On October 7th of 2023, Hamas attacked Israel, taking 251 people hostage.
Gali and Ziv Berman were among them, twin brothers who lived on a Khabbutz near the Gaza border.
They were 26 years old.
Now, after two years, they are among some of the remaining hostages still held in captivity.
But in the last few days, the prospect of the war in Gaza ending,
and the remaining hostages coming home seems closer than ever.
And that gives Gali and Ziv's older brother Liren cautious hope.
We are waiting.
We are stressed out, but this is the most optimistic I've been since January 2025.
