China's cross-regional passenger flow hit a record high during China's national day and a mid-autumn festival holiday,
a clear sign of the country's booming tourism vitality.
The Ministry of Transport reported over 1.2 billion passenger trips in the first half of the holiday.
On Saturday alone, people made over 300 million trips, up around 6% year-on-year.
Road travel remained the most popular choice.
Railway, waterway, and civil aviation trips also increased.
Top destinations included Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu and Xi'an.
The ministry expect the total number of trips during the holiday period to surpass 2.3 billion,
setting a new record for national day holiday travel in China.
