  • China's cross-regional passenger flow hit a record high during China's national day and a mid-autumn festival holiday,

  • a clear sign of the country's booming tourism vitality.

  • The Ministry of Transport reported over 1.2 billion passenger trips in the first half of the holiday.

  • On Saturday alone, people made over 300 million trips, up around 6% year-on-year.

  • Road travel remained the most popular choice.

  • Railway, waterway, and civil aviation trips also increased.

  • Top destinations included Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu and Xi'an.

  • The ministry expect the total number of trips during the holiday period to surpass 2.3 billion,

  • setting a new record for national day holiday travel in China.
