Hello and welcome to Meet the Writers.
I'm Georgina Godwin.
My guest today is an international best-selling author, journalist and editor.
Born in Incheon, Korea, she was raised in Portland from the age of nine,
and she received a degree in art and archaeology from Princeton University.
She founded and was editor of Peaceful Dumpling,
an online magazine covering sustainable lifestyle and literature.
Her first novel, Beasts of a Little Land,
was a finalist for the Dayton Peace Prize and won a prestigious Russian award.
Her latest novel is City of Nightbirds.
It's set in the world of ballet and it was chosen for Reese Witherspoon's book club and I'm sure he's going to go on to many,
many other wonderful book clubs and to win awards because it is fabulous.
Do you hate Kim?
Welcome to Meet the Writers.
Thank you so much, Georgina.
Very happy to be here.
So I just have to tell the listeners what happened when we met a few minutes ago.
I came in and I was just listening to your book on audio and I came in and you were early and unfortunately you saw that I was in fact crying.
All I can say is I can see the passion that you have poured into this book
because it drips off the page and down my face.
