Hello, it's 1315 days since Russia began its full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
And for much of this year, as you'll know, as one of our loyal listeners, in fact,
since President Trump's inauguration, we have focused intently on your behalf,
on efforts to get some sort of peace plan in place in Ukraine.
And let's be honest, after months and months and months of diplomacy,
starting with that awful row in the Oval Office between President Zelensky and President Trump,
and the Alaska summit between President Trump and President Putin,
there has been limited success when it comes to diplomacy.
So today, we want to bring you back to some of the people at the sharp end of this conflict,
those who are dealing with the brutal and shocking and immediate consequences of the war close up.
Today, we're going to speak to two surgeons,
a Ukrainian and a British medic who have been operating on the front line.
That's coming up on this episode of Ukrainecast.
Ukrainecast from BBC News.
This is a sovereign nation under unprovoked attack.
We are ready to finish this war as quick as possible.
Russia is not preparing for peace.
We are an enemy of NATO.
And we'll do whatever is necessary to ensure our security.
