Hello, welcome to the program.
This is News Hour from the BBC World Service coming to you live from London.
I'm Paul Henley.
President Trump says Israel has agreed to a peace deal for Gaza,
following talks in Washington with the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
However, Hamas says it's yet to see any of the peace proposals.
Mr Trump's plan sets out terms for both sides to stop the fighting.
Israeli troops will partially withdraw and hostages held by Hamas will be released in exchange for Palestinian prisoners.
Following that, aid will return to levels last seen at the beginning of this year.
Speaking to reporters in the White House and standing alongside Mr Netanyahu shortly before we came on air,
Mr Trump said if Hamas didn't accept the plan,
Israel would have the U.S.'s full support to do what it needed to do.
I hope that we're going to have a deal for peace.
And if Hamas rejects the deal, which is always possible, they're the only one left.
Everyone else has accepted it.
But I have a feeling that we're going to have a positive answer.
But if not, as you know, baby, you'd have our full backing to do what you would have to do.
Everyone understands that the ultimate result must be the elimination of any danger posed in the region,
and that danger is caused by Hamas.
