Hello and welcome to NewsHour from the BBC World Service.
We are coming to you live from London.
I'm Rob Young.
Donald Trump is making no attempt to hide his use of the law to settle scores with people who oppose him.
The public demands for retribution are extraordinary for a sitting American president.
Just days ago Mr Trump said he wanted the former head of the FBI,
James Comey, to be charged with crimes.
After a number of prosecutors said there was insufficient evidence to do so,
A Trump loyalist was parachuted into a key role and Mr. Comey was eventually charged.
The pair had a massive falling out during Mr Trump's first term when the FBI launched an investigation into possible links between Mr Trump's 2016 election campaign and Russia.
It seems Mr Trump has never forgiven Mr Comey.
The president recently called those who tried to prosecute him scum and on Friday before boarding his plane to watch the Ryder Cup golf,
the president spoke to reporters and said he hoped more people would be charged.
It's not revenge, it's a battle.
It's also about the fact that you can't let this go on.
They are sick, radical left people, and they can't get away with it.
And Comey was one of the people.
He wasn't the biggest, but he's a dirty cop.
He's always been a dirty cop.
