Israel has criticised a new batch of Western countries at the UN for formally recognising Palestine as a sovereign state.
Israel's ambassador to the UN accused Britain,
France and nine other nations traditionally allied with Israel of moving on and forgetting the plight of hostages.
The country's decision,
which they say aims to keep alive the prospect of a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict,
comes ahead of reports President Trump will meet a group of Arab and Muslim leaders today for talks on post-war governance for Gaza.
He's also due to address the UN General Assembly.
Here's President Macron saying why France had recognised Palestinian statehood.
