单集文稿 ...

  • Hello and welcome to the English Like A Native podcast.

  • My name is Anna and you're listening to week 36,

  • day three of your English Fiverr Day, the second season.

  • Settle down, come on in,

  • relax and let me tickle your eardrums as you receive your daily dose of English language.

  • Remember, everything's being recorded for you in the database.

  • The link is in the show notes, so all you have to do is listen.

  • Let's begin, as we always do, with a snapshot of what's to come.

  • One summer we stayed in a rambling old house near the forest,

  • with rooms spreading in every direction.

  • Each morning we would explore the wilderness, carrying a thermos of tea for the long walks.

  • By the end of the week, I felt completely at one with nature.

  • Peaceful and relaxed among the trees.

  • Okay, let's deep dive now into our vocabulary.

  • Number one on our list is an adjective and it is the adjective rambling.

  • Rambling.

  • Now this always makes me think of roses because we often use this with the rose, bush or plant.

  • So to be rambling is to be large and spread out in many different directions.

  • There are a number of different bushes and plants that do ramble.

  • They spread out and they grow quite vast.
