18 分钟Hello and welcome to the English Like A Native podcast.
My name is Anna and you're listening to week 36,
day two of your English Fiver Day, the second season.
I'm here, as always,
every day of the working week from Monday to Friday to help you to keep feeding your habit of dunking deep into the English language on a regular basis.
By doing so, I guarantee you will grow your vocabulary, improve your listening skills and,
slowly but surely, start to feel more like yourself when communicating in English.
So let's do this together and you don't need to worry about making notes
because I've written everything down for you.
All the vocabulary that we cover today and in every episode of the Five A Day series is stored in our vocabulary vault,
our huge database that you can access for free by clicking on the link in the show notes.
Now, without further ado, let's start, as we usually do, with a snapshot of what's to come.
When Anna left the concrete jungle of London for a weekend trip to a small village,
she didn't bargain for how peaceful it would feel.
The old streets and quiet square made her feel like she had taken a step back in time,
and the beauty of the sunset over the hills made her stop in her tracks.
Later, the thought of returning to her noisy city flat began to gnaw at her.
And she wondered if she should stay longer.
I do know that feeling.
Okay, let's dive into this now.
