14 分钟Hello and welcome to the English Like An Aided podcast.
My name is Anna and you're listening to week 35,
day five of your English Five a Day, the second season.
This is the series that helps you to grow your vocabulary,
improve your listening skills and overall feel more confident when communicating in English.
Now today is a Friday which means that we are going to bring together all the vocabulary we've looked at this week in one big story but with a twist.
Today the story is not mine nor am I reading it.
I'm very excited to welcome on a very special guest to read today's story.
Now usually you are hearing my British voice.
But today you're going to hear the American voice of Aubrey from All Ears English.
Let me give you a little introduction to our very special guest.
Aubrey Carter is a co-host of the All Ears English podcast and community manager for the vibrant All Ears English community where she enjoys helping students reach their English fluency goals.
A language learner herself, she speaks French and Spanish and has lived in Belgium,
France and Montreal, Canada.
She grew up in the northwest of the US before moving to New York City to complete a master's degree in ESL as part of the New York City Teaching Fellows program.
She loves to stay active and plays volleyball, pickleball and OTL softball.
She lives in Arizona with her husband and four children.
So without further ado, sit back, relax and listen to Aubrey's story.
Take it away, Aubrey.
When I was 19 years old, I had the opportunity to move to Brussels, Belgium and work as an au pair.
