This year marks the 94th anniversary of the September 18th incident when Japanese troops launched a surprise attack in northeastern China in 1931.
The assault in Shenyang triggered 14 years of brutal war and resistance against Japanese aggression and also sounded the first alarm in the global fight against fascism.
On Thursday, Shenyang once again held a solemn ceremony to honor history and call for peace.
