  • This BBC podcast is supported by ads outside the UK.

  • Hello Chris.

  • Hello.

  • Shall we sound the nerd alert,

  • which according to last week's Economist we do when we're going to talk about something detailed?

  • Did you know we had such a thing as a nerd alert?

  • No, I didn't.

  • But I just think the whole thing.

  • I mean,

  • it isn't just newscast a sort of decade-long experiment in nerd alerts every day of the week.

  • It would just be blaring the whole time,

  • like a fire alarm that never stops or a smoke alarm that needs a new battery.

  • Anyway, sorry, Economist.

  • We don't have nerd alerts.

  • Anyway, that's easier than writing them a letter, isn't it?

  • But we are going to have to sign the nerd alert now if we had one,

  • because today, Monday in the House of Commons, the speaker granted an SO24.

  • Yes.

  • So this was happening whilst I was furiously editing a six o'clock news piece.

  • So you might help me along with some of the details here, Adam, because I didn't catch all of this.
