Music. Hello, and welcome to Meet the Writers.
I'm Georgina Godwin.
My guest today is a multi-award-winning writer based in Sydney.
She's known as one of Australia's premier authors.
She was born in Sri Lanka.
She moved to Australia as a teenager and was educated in Melbourne and Paris.
She was the founding editor of Australian Women's Book Review, and she's edited The Travel Guide,
the company Lonely Planet, while setting up their office in Paris.
And she wrote and published her first novel, The Rose Grower, in 1999.
Her book, The Law...
Ross Dogg was longlisted for the 2008 Booker Prize and the Orange Prize,
and she's won Australia's top literary award,
the Miles Franklin twice, for questions of travel in 2013 and the life to come five years later.
In 2023, she was awarded the Folio Prize for Scary Monsters.
Her latest novel, Her Seventh, is the genre-busting Theory and Practice,
which has just been awarded the prestigious Stella Award.
Michelle Decretzo, what a huge name in Australian writing.
Welcome to meet the writers.
Thank you so much.
Thank you for having me on the programme.
