one of the most influential voices in conservative politics.
He was killed yesterday on stage at an event hosted by Utah Valley University.
The school was the first stop on a debate tour for his conservative youth organization,
Turning Point USA.
According to eyewitnesses,
Kirk was just moments into a debate with an attendee about mass shootings in America when a shooter fired at him,
hitting him in the neck.
Kirk was 31 years old, a father of two young children,
and married to the podcast host Erika Franzve.

He spoke with the network about what he witnessed.
