  • Hello and welcome to NewsHour from the BBC World Service with me,

  • Sean Lay, coming to live from London this hour.

  • Qatar has condemned this attack in Doha by Israel, targeted at Hamas officials based there.

  • Israel says it was a response in part in retaliation for the attack by a government in Jerusalem on Monday in which six people were killed.

  • Earlier today, news hour heard from Shami,

  • a Filipino woman who was close to a building targeted in the attack.

  • I was in the room and then I heard a loud bang three times before I go outside.

  • And then I go outside.

  • So a lot of birds on the sky coming from the other side.

  • I wasn't really nervous.

  • I locked the door because I'm alone.

  • So I locked everything.

  • I'm scared.

  • I don't know what happened and I don't know where the loud bomb came from.

  • We are living in the area near or where it happened.

  • That's why we can clearly hear the loud bomb of the bombs.

  • The son of Hamas's ex-Hard-Gaza chief Khalil Alhaya was killed in the attack,

  • along with four other members.

  • Alhaya himself has been one of the group's negotiating team in Hamas.
