In Doha, the capital of Qatar yesterday, explosions.
Very unexpected explosions.
Israeli airstrikes pummeled a building north of the city's center.
Smoke filled the skyline.
The target of the fighter jets, Israel says, was senior Hamas leaders.
Hamas says six people were killed, including a member of the Qatari security forces.
What may also have been fatally wounded were near-term negotiations for peace in Gaza,
and the sense that Qatari was a safe place to carry them out.
