You're listening to NewsHour live on the BBC World Service from London.
I'm Gary O'Donoghue.
We begin tonight in Ukraine, where Russia has launched its largest aerial bombardment of the war,
sending over more than 800 drones and missiles.
The attack has killed at least three people, including a mother and her infant son.
It also hit a government compound for the first time,
with the Cabinet of Ministers building seeing extensive damage to its roof and upper floors.
A BBC cameraman caught the moment when the bomb struck.
Smoke could be seen billowing across the night sky with helicopters attempting to douse the flames.
This woman, Elena, was a neighbour of the mother and son who were killed.
When the blast started, they all came quickly, one after another,
and we only had time to run out into the corridor.
We didn't go out earlier because we thought it would pass over us, but not this time.
Now we're just completely lost.
We don't really know what to do next."
Another neighbour, Valentina, said the attacks were a sign that Vladimir Putin didn't want peace.
Film this.
Show it to the whole world so they see how Russia wants peace and how it fights with fascists.
Trump says Putin is a good lad, but if he was such a nice lad then there wouldn't be war here.
He wants to destroy Ukraine completely.
