Chinese President Xi Jinping has called for deeper regional cooperation,
shared development and true multilateralism during his keynote speeches at the 2025 Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit in Tianjin.
Addressing leaders and representatives from 26 participating countries,
President Xi revealed the SCO's major achievements over the past two decades,
from building trust through border security and counterterrorism cooperation to boosting trade,
connectivity and people-to-people exchanges.
President Xi also proposed a range of new measures,
including the establishment of an SCO development bank, expanded cooperation in the digital economy,
green innovation and skills training,
while reaffirming China's commitment to aligning the Belt and Road Initiative with the SCO's long-term goals.
