First today, a US appeals court has ruled that most of Donald Trump's tariffs are illegal.
In a post on social media, Mr Trump said if the decision were allowed to stand,
it would literally destroy the United States of America.
The court said Mr Trump did not have the authority to impose the levies,
which had been used as a tool by his administration to exert pressure and renegotiate trade deals with countries that export goods to the US.
The tariffs have been imposed on most countries around the globe,
leading to what many see as upending decades of progress towards free trade agreements.
The court has allowed the tariffs to remain in place
while the Trump administration appeals to the Supreme Court.
The case was brought by small businesses and a group of Democratic attorney generals from across the US.
Dan Rayfield is one of them, from Oregon, and he gave the BBC his reaction.
Well, incredibly big moment in this case.
It is a seven to four ruling.
I mean, effectively concurs with the opinion from the lower court and actually,
frankly, at other federal courts.
So you have effectively 12 judges in the United States saying that the president has now overstepped his authority to implement tariffs by using an emergency power.
