Israel says it's begun the initial stages of its major offensive in Gaza City.
For days,
the Israeli authorities have been telling the approximately one million people who live there to evacuate.
Today, it declared the city a combat zone and it seems the attack has begun.
Israel also announced today that the so-called humanitarian pauses it's been running to allow aid into the area are also suspended.
Later, we'll hear from the head of the World Food Programme,
who's demanding that full-scale surge of humanitarian aid begin immediately.
But first, what do we know of the situation on the ground in Gaza City tonight?
Our reporters are banned from entering Gaza by the Israeli government,
but our correspondent Amir Nader is following events from Jerusalem.
Essentially, Israel now for two weeks has been pushing into Gaza City,
bombarding heavily some of the outer neighbourhoods in the south,
