10 分钟AI. Everybody's talking about AI and for good reason.
Will AI change language learning?
That's what I want to talk about today.
The quick answer is yes.
AI is not going to change how our brain learns new languages.
And learning, as Manfred Spitzer famously said,
takes place in our brain, not in the classroom, nowhere else.
Wherever our brain is, that's where we learn.
and the way we learn languages is not going to change.
It's been the same for thousands of years.
However, the ease with which we can access relevant,
compelling input, which is the key to language learning,
input, listening, reading, content of interest,
meaningful messages, our ability to either access such...
input or create such input tailored to our needs focused on our needs and our preferences is going to improve dramatically with ai so let me get into the subject of how i think ai is going to make language learning more powerful than ever Before I do that,
though, let me dismiss one concern that some people raise, and that is,
will AI make it unnecessary to learn languages
because we can communicate through AI or through apps on our iPhone or other device?
I don't think so.
A person who's not interested in learning languages,
