Welcome to Otherworld.
I'm your host, Jack Wagner.
This episode features several experiences from a man named Matt who is a psychotherapist living and working in Pasadena,
California.
And I think you'll find that his job as a psychotherapist is what makes this episode so unique.
There's a lot going on in Matt's story.
missing time, hypnosis, dreams, and UFOs.
But the way he analyzes and relates to his own experiences is what makes this story particularly interesting.
I've spoken to a lot of people in the process of making this show,
and I don't think I've talked to anyone with quite the same perspective as Matt.
I think any listeners who are fans of Carl Jung, James Hillman,
or Jacques Vallée are going to be really into this episode.
All three of those are people who wrote about how the mind interacts with unexplained phenomena,
specifically through symbols, myths, and altered states of consciousness.
In this episode,
Matt experiences several things in physical waking reality that most people would find shocking and terrifying.
But I think for Matt,
that shock is outweighed by his desire to understand the meaning of these experiences.
and the limitation of the human mind's ability to comprehend them.
This is episode 129.
