Hello Super Great Kids!
Today we have a Maori story from New Zealand, or Aotearoa, called Kawariki and the Shark Man.
It's told by Emi Bidwa, who told you the story how Maui slowed the sun.
How are you Super Great Kids?
I hope you've had a happy week!
I'm very happy and it's because of you.
My reason to be cheerful is that lots of you have been helping us by pre-ordering our super great book,
which is very kind of you.
It puts a skip in our walk and a wag in our tail,
so thank you to everyone who's been helping us with that.
Last week we had a cat story and this week we have a shark story.
Quite a few of you have asked for a shark story and I found it rather difficult to find a traditional tale with a shark in it.
But, Amy Bidwa from New Zealand or Aotearoa, she knew one.
It makes sense because lots of sharks live around the coast of New Zealand,
particularly great white sharks which are very big, about half the length of your average bus.
And they've got about 300 sharp teeth to chomp their snicky snacks down with.
