President Xi, also General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee,
arrived in the region, also known as Tibet, on Wednesday for the anniversary celebration activities.
He listened to a work report from the regional party committee and government urging the region to advance high-quality development based on local conditions.
He also called on local authorities to build a modern socialist Shizhen that is united,
prosperous and beautiful.
President Xi also met representatives from all sectors and encouraged them to work together to achieve the goals of Chinese-style modernization on the plateau.
