Hello, welcome to the programme.
This is NewsHour from the BBC World Service.
We're coming to you live from London.
I'm Paul Henley.
Ukraine's President Zelensky is in Washington,
ahead of what are perhaps his most important talks yet with Donald Trump at the White House.
Mr Trump will also have meetings with a number of European leaders,
including the German Chancellor and the British Prime Minister.
They've come to the US to show their support for Ukraine.
Today's talks come days after the US leader met Vladimir Putin on American turf in Alaska to try to prepare a peace agreement following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
President Trump has already said Ukraine joining NATO or retaking occupied Crimea are off the table.
So what's on it?
Let's hear live from our Washington correspondent, Tom Bateman.
Welcome, Tom.
From what you've heard, what is the American plan today?
Well, we heard extensively from some of Mr. Trump's top officials over the weekend,
notably Steve Witkoff, his chief negotiator on this issue,
and Marco Rubio, his secretary of state,
both of whom were in the room with Mr. Trump when he met Vladimir Putin on Friday.
And there are two things here, I think, that are at the top of the agenda here.
