So much has changed since we did that episode of Newscast on Saturday morning,
rounding up what had happened in the Trump-Putin summit in Alaska.
Basically, the vibe from that was that it was all about the optics,
with Trump putting Putin on the same level as him, which some people found quite offensive.
However, actually... quite a lot has changed substantively as a result of that summit.
Gone is the idea of a temporary ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine as a precondition for negotiations.
Donald Trump is now going straight to an ultimate peace settlement.
