My name is Anna and you're listening to week 32, day 5 of your English 5 a day, the second season.
With this series,
you are building and maintaining a healthy habit of dipping daily into the English language so that no matter what you do,
As long as you listen on a regular basis, you are expanding your vocabulary,
improving your listening skills and slowly but surely starting to feel more like yourself when communicating in English.
Now, today is Friday,
so this is the day where we bring together all the vocabulary that we visited this week in one big story.
So all you have to do is sit back, relax and listen.
Let's go.
A memorable Highland adventure.
In the summer of 2011,
my partner and I were on holiday in the Scottish Highlands when we decided to tackle Cairngorm,
one of Scotland's most famous peaks.
At 1,245 metres high,
it's the sixth tallest mountain in the British Isles and sits proudly in the Cairngorms Range.
What makes it particularly well known is the funicular railway that carries skiers to near the summit during winter months.
Scottish mountains might not be the tallest in the world,
but they are notorious for their unpredictable and harsh conditions.
Cairngorm is especially famous for its extreme winds, sudden blizzards and rapidly changing weather.
