My name is Anna and you're listening to week 32, day 4 of Your English 5 a Day, the second season.
This is your series.
Allowing you to dip daily into the English language so that you can feel more confident,
more comfortable and more like yourself when communicating in English.
Because that is what's important.
Releasing the power of your English voice.
So, let's begin today's episode as we always do, with a snapshot.
Jim walked along the shore and saw a group of sunburnt tourists who clearly hadn't bothered with sun protection that morning.
He decided to stretch out on his towel and slather on a thick layer of sun cream before the Mediterranean sun could damage his skin.
I'm not making the same mistake as those poor people, he thought.
As he carefully applied the lotion.
All right, it's time to deep dive.
And the first item we are splashing into is the adjective sunburnt.
Sunburnt.
Hopefully this is something that you haven't experienced.
To be sunburnt.
S-U-N-B-U-R-N-T.
Sunburnt is...
Having red, sore skin from being in the sun for too long.
