Hello to you.
Welcome to NewsHour from the BBC World Service, coming to you live from London with me, Sean Lay.
On NewsHour on Monday,
we reported on media briefings in Israel which suggested Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu plans to extend its military operations in Gaza.
It's now emerged that the cabinet has approved the restoration of commercial food supplies to Gaza.
They were suspended 10 months ago.
Kogat, that's the coordinator of government activities in the territories,
a branch of the Ministry of Defence,
says it's approved, among other goods, fruit, vegetables, baby food and hygiene supplies.
This is the second change in policy towards food distribution made in recent weeks.
Israel has permitted some countries to conduct aid drops from the air over Gaza,
although groups with experience of operations are sceptical about the impact they can make.
Let's go now live to Jerusalem and our Middle East correspondent.
Ugo Beshega.
Ugo, first of all, can we talk about the military operation and these reports of an expansion?
What do we know?
Yeah,
so there have been multiple reports in Israel suggesting that the Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has already made a decision and will now seek a cabinet support for his plan to fully occupy the Gaza Strip.
And reports say that he has used this word, occupation, in private conversations.
Now, the cabinet is expected to meet this week.
