For many people living with cancer, treatment can be a stark and unsettling experience.
Patients might be separated from their families, they're scared, they're often exhausted.
Traveling back and forth to appointments can be expensive and time-consuming too.
But imagine a world where patients can do chemotherapy in their own home.
They're in familiar, more comfortable surroundings supported by friends and family.
Could it lead to better outcomes?
Today, we are speaking with two doctors who want to make care better for those who have cancer.
So pleased that Dr. Roxana Dronka is with us.
She's the director of Mayo Clinic's Comprehensive Cancer Center in Florida,
where she works as a hematologist and oncologist.
She's also running two clinical trials on the effectiveness of at-home care for patients undergoing chemotherapy.
So patients live longer.
They need more treatments and we have more cancer diagnosis.
We're really being outpaced in our ability to offer treatment to everyone in our physical spaces.
