Today, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has announced plans to recognise a Palestinian state in September unless Israel meets certain conditions, including a ceasefire and a commitment to a long-term peace process. It comes the same day as a major alert from the UN-backed Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) warning of "the worst-case scenario of famine” playing out in Gaza.
