Hello, this is the BBC World Service.
Welcome along to Business Matters for the next hour.
I'm Sam Fennick.
Coming up in this first half hour of the programme,
the US and the EU have struck a last minute trade deal.
But is it fair?
European exports face new tariffs while US goods entering Europe are tariff free.
We'll hear from a former EU commissioner who says Brussels have made a mistake.
We'll also hear from US exporters who have welcomed the deal.
On behalf of the United States,
obviously we appreciate the president's leadership in bringing more jobs and manufacturing to the United States.
But what about those who import from the EU?
They're worried that they'll have to put up prices and those prices will have to be paid by US consumers.
And as England's lionesses are crowned European football champions for a second time.
You should get the same amount of money
because I mean just because of women doesn't mean I can't kick the ball about and stuff.
We'll look at the rise of women's football around the world and the money that is being poured into the sport.
Now as ever on Business Matters we'll be joined throughout the program by two guests on opposite sides of the world so it's a very good evening to Peter Marizzi he's an economist and professor of business at the University of Maryland in the United States.
Good evening Peter how are you?
I'm good.
